Our trip to Oklahoma!

We left Huntsville Thursday for 9 days of vacation with Jon's parents in Oklahoma. We were all very excited--Jon hasn't been home in over 2 years. Jordan hasn't ever been there. Lawson was very excited about going to the airport and getting to fly in an airplane.

The trip went pretty well. Jordan was very fidgety, but Lawson did great. We have already had a good time hanging out and eating good food. And guess what?? It snowed Saturday night!!! So...Sunday after naps we let the kids get out into it. Lawson learned how to make snowballs and Jordan spent the whole time eating snow off her gloves. Such fun! Here are a few pics so far...I'll update more later.

Busy, Busy...So Much to Catch up on!

I have been CRAZY busy! I don't even know where to start...

Monday and Tuesday I signed and stuffed 560 Christmas cards for my paper customers. Tuesday and Wednesday I delivered them with papers. Thursday I started getting my 120 cards ready for friends and family.

Friday I started subbing for another friend who does papers. Friday morning I threw 850 papers! I subbed Fri, Sat, Sun and Mon!

Of course, the Friday the 14th was Lawson's 3rd birthday. My mom came for a visit, and we had such a good time getting to visit and celebrate. I really can't believe Lawson is 3! He is getting to be such a big boy. He loves to talk, sing, help--he is really very social. He loves being a big brother and helping out with Jordan. He loves Bible class and his teachers. He loves Bible stories and Bible songs. He knows so much stuff. He is potty trained and hardly ever has accidents. I am really proud of who he is and who he is growing into!

The day after his birthday-Saturday- we had his party. It was Little Einsteins, which is his favorite show. Jon and I made a tree for the kids to run through into Rocket's clubhouse. We put up a tent and covered it to make it look like rocket. Then we went on a mission to find Lawson's party. We had a craft, some music, and finally---the party! Lawson really loved it, and I think his friends did too. Thanks to Joshua, Abby Kate, Mikel, and Andrew for coming!!

Sunday was the longest potluck in church history, I think! It was really fun getting to visit with our Hispanic brothers and sisters, and Lawson had so much fun hitting the pinata, but after doing the papers, it was a LOOOOONG afternoon! Upon arriving home, I laid down for a NAP at 2pm. I WOKE UP AT 230 AM!!!! I had only had about 5-6 hours sleep total in the 3 previous days!! I guess I needed to catch up!

Monday, my mom wanted to go visit some friends of the family who had moved from Michigan to Tennessee about 10 years ago. It was a really good time, and we got to catch up. The trip home was a nightmare and we didn't get home til after 10, but other than that it was a great day.

Tuesday, I took advantage of my mom being here and got some errands done. I am blessed with a couple friends who watch my kids every now and then, but I never get to take advantage of just dropping the kids off at grandparents' house. I'm okay with that, but it's nice when I can have that help! So...got a lot done Tuesday.

Wednesday, I finished the Christmas cards that I started the week before. Last year, I took a Christmas picture, got the cards printed, ADDRESSED THE ENVELOPES, and never sent the cards!!! Well, this year, I used the addressed envelopes (praise the Lord!) and got my cards ready. I also spent the whole day doing ALL of our laundry!

Thursday, I packed us up for our trip to Oklahoma! I also stamped the Xmas cards and stuck them in the mailbox, and thus won $50 b/c my loving and confident husband bet me I wouldn't get them done this year either. (If I knew how to type the sound it makes when you're sticking your tongue out I would do that here!) We were leaving the house at 2:15, so I just popped in movie after movie so I could get everything done! We got packed and out of the house at 2:25, but were late to the airport because we had to turn around and go back to the house TWICE! At least we remembered the kids!!! :)

What a crazy mad week! But now we're in Oklahoma. It snowed yesterday, and we're just in the house enjoying time with family during these holidays. I hope to put another update with pictures of our trip so far in a couple days. In the meantime, I hope that you all have a great Christmas with family and friends. I hope that if you're hurting, there will be people around you who can surround you and comfort you. Most of all, I hope you take some time to think about all the blessing that we are surrounded with and the joy that we have because we have a Father who sent his son to be born of a young girl and change the world.

Merry Christmas from our family to yours!

Doesn't it feel good to pay less?

It has been ages since I've been to Payless Shoe Source. I used to go all the time back in the day so I could have more shoes for less money. Now that I don't shop much at all, I just don't really go anywhere at all.

Until...I have been wanting Jordan to have a cute pair of white shoes to wear with a few outfits. The ones I wanted were $30-35 at the stores I had seen them in. Um...NO WAY! :) Can't do it! So...I decided to check out the old Payless.

Look at these shoes I found for Jordan! They were only $12! PLUS, they were having BuyOneGetOne Half Off!!! So....Lawson got a new pair of fake Crocs, too! Both pairs came out to only $20!!!

I LOVE A GOOD DEAL! :)

Little Words

Last night, Jon was sitting on the couch, legs stretched out after a long day. Lawson had gone into the playroom, chosen a book, and approached Jon.

"Daddy," he said, "will you make your legs into a lap so you can read this book to me?"

The Greatest Show on Earth!

Or so they say! Friday our family went to see the circus! It was so much fun! A couple of girls from our Huddle group, Shelby and Jana, went with us, and we were all in awe of the amazing feats the performers did right before our eyes. The adults and 17-year-old girls were as entertained as the baby and 3-year-old! :) Jon bought a program, which came with a blinking clown nose...this was a great source of fun. After a wonderful evening at the VBC, we finished it off with drinks at Sonic, then headed home at the ripe old time of 10:15! Here are some pics of our evening...

We are on our way!

The trapeze is my favorite thing at the circus. I was pretty impressed with this sequence of pictures I took--the skill of the performers was really unbelievable!

Here is Clown Lawson at the end of the night. He LOVED it!
Overall it was truly A MAGICAL NIGHT!!!
