Ahhhh....Kids....

This afternoon I ran to Wal-Mart to get groceries for Jon and the kids to go camping tonight. (Probably a post about that next week if Jon takes pictures like he's been instructed.) Anyways...I quickly make my way through the aisles and find myself in a monstrous line waiting to check out. The kids were being pretty good and I found myself browsing a magazine so no worries. We kept inching up, and soon we were the next in line. I start loading up the counter and then it happened.

Lawson stood up in the cart, pointed directly at the cashier and (not so quietly) asked me, "Mommy, Is that a boy or a girl?"

The worst part? I wasn't even sure! I walked over to him and whispered, "I'm not sure. Now sit down and be quiet."

Ahhh...leave it to my four-year-old!

Bless. Your. Heart. Don't feel so bad. I once had a kid who knew me tell me that I should go on that show "The Swan" so I could get pretty. Yeah, that's the one where they pretty much re-do everything about the person. I'm sure the shim's ego probably didn't take that much of a blow ; )

Was "it" named De??? If so, we've seen the SAME person!!! I honestly didn't know and felt so ashamed when my kids were asking me over and over what "it" was and I acted like I didn't even hear them. :)

If you saw the same person that I did, I am going to guess a man, trying to be a woman. Definitely had the facial hair, saggy chest with no support (if you know what I mean), manly voice, but "it" had manicured/fake fingernails, earrings, and styled hair. CREEPY!!!!

Gotta love those moments! My kids being the rednecks that they are, walked right up to a long-haired boy a couple of weeks ago & asked him if he was a boy. The boy, quite perturbed, answered & then my little sweeties told him then he should get a hair-cut!

So just wait...one day they'll just ask the people & by-pass you & that is S.C.A.R.Y.
